Lion.K.G.Ramakrishnamurthy called as KGR Joined Lionism during
1984 became the Charter Secretary of Lions Club of Coimbatore Gandhipuram during
1985 in Dist 324 B1. As club Secretary received all awards at club and District
level and stood as the most popular Lion of the Multiple 324 during 1985-86. He
was selected as the Best Secretary of the Multiple and awarded with Vispy Minoo
Engineers Rolling Trophy. Served as President during 1987-88 and was adjudged as
the best President of Dist. and Multiple. Became Cabinet Secretary during 1988-89
and adjudged as the Best Cabinet Secretary. Architect of redistricting proposal
of existing 324 B into Bl, B2, B3, and B4... Recipient of 100% attendance award,
Extension Award, Guiding Lion Award and Lion Service Award for reviving Status Quo
Clubs and membership key awards. Served as Region Chairman, Dist. Chairman Leadership
and Extension Elected to serve as District Governor during 1993- 94 for the District
324 B1.
Responsible for motivating; designing and sponsoring 75 clubs i.e., 25 during
cabinet secretary 25 during DC Extension and 25 during District Governor. Specially
involved in motivation and supporting LCIF projects for various districts and supported
more than 25 projects around the Multiple 324-A5.
Elected to serve as Multiple Council
Chairman of MD 324 during 1994-95 the largest Multiple of the world and worked on
the specific goal of bringing more members b7 designing a core team at all District
level and obtained 3600 mark an all time record for the past 10 years in MD 324.
• Served as Multiple Sight First Chairman and Multiple Leadership Chairman. The
concept of creating a core trainers group in every district in MD 324 is his brain
child. A strong believer of Leadership programme only will bring solidarity in our
movement and involved in Leadership training programmes inclusive of Emerging, Senior
Leadership Institutes and Regional Leadership Institutes.
• Installation of clubs
and District cabinets and new member Induction Ceremony are his passion and he is
being called for more than 1000 clubs and 60 districts.
• A 57 time Blood Donor
involved in Eye Collection also.
• 24X7 Lion created an indelible mark as Impact
Team Leader travelled length and breadth of his area MD324 and 322 in India, Sri
Lanka and Bangladesh to motivate to sponsor new clubs and his area stood first in
sponsoring new clubs.
• Served as National co-coordinator of LCIF projects 1998-
2000.
He was involved actively with Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Southern
India Engineering Manufacturers Association, Coimbatore District Small Scale Industries
Association. Tamilnadu Weights and Measures Manufacturers Association, Coimbatore
Management Association, Public Relations Society of India Coimbatore Chapter, Coimbatore
Kerala Club and Life patron of YMCA. Active member of Coimbatore Blood Donors association
and Red Cross Society of India A diploma holder in Mechanical engineering after
serving in an English firm for more than a decade started his own firm KG Equipment
and Hero High Tech Scales Limited manufacturing Mechanical and Electronic Weighing
Machines. Presently involved in Insurance consultancy. KGR a Melvin Jones Fellow
married to Meera who is also a Lion having a Son Kaarthick working with World Bank
and a Daughter Poornima working with Infosys. KGR was elected as the International
Director for the years 2006-2008 at the 89th International Convention at Boston(USA)
between June 30-July 04,2006 Presently he is a member of Lions Club of Madras Metro
East in District 324 A6. Enjoy Lionism is his concept and Lionism is his way of
Life. Loving people and serving them is the greater value in his life. He feels
Lionism has given the best in his life he will give back Lionism the best of his
life.
